Excursion Description:

The distance is 230 km and lasts about 3 hours.
After boarding to the bus we are leaving the city of Thessaloniki and we are heading west to Egnatia Odos. After one hour we are seeing city of Veria amphitheatrically on our right at the foot of Mount Vermio. On the way we see our vast and uninterrupted stretches of peach and nectarine fruit exported to Europe and Russia. The archaeological site of Vergina is protected by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage Monument. We continue crossing 16 tunnels of the Egnatia Odos, a modern, comfortable and safe road that connects East and West.

After some minutes we arrive in Museum of Natural History in MiliaGrevena. The Museum of Milia is a museum of fossil record in the area of ​​Grevena. It houses finds from excavations in 1990 with the most significant find, from the 2007 excavation, the largest tusks ever found. With a length of 5.02meters, it is one of the most important finds in the world, having even entered the book of Record Guinness.

After Milia we are heading to Meteora. In Meteora the view of the towering dark rocks is amazing. The monasteries are hidden on their peaks and caves from the 11th century. With ropes, nets or bare hands, the monks established a tradition of centuries: climbing. UNESCO has designated Meteora as a “Preserved and Protected Monument of Humanity“. We visit two of the six monasteries and admire the magnificent panoramic view from above.

Later we have a Greek traditional lunch in city of Kalambaka.

After approximately one and half hour, begins our return and about 18:00 we will be back to Thessaloniki and in our starting points.
